EDUCATIONAL GRANTS REGULATIONS

22nd National Oncology Congress, Braga, 26–27–28 November 2025

Before submitting a scientific abstract, we recommend that you carefully read the following guidelines.



  • 1) Applications will be accepted from residents and young specialists (< 40 years old) in the fields of Medical Oncology, Surgery, Radiation Oncology, Imaging, and Pathological Anatomy.
  • 2) SPO will cover the costs of participation in the Congress, which includes the registration fee and accommodation, for the three selected applicants who are awarded the educational grants for the 22nd National Oncology Congress.
  • 3) Applications must be submitted via email to: cno.trabalhos@sponcologia.pt with the subject: Educational Grant Application for the 22nd National Oncology Congress, where the applicant should identify themselves, stating their area of specialisation, year of training, place of work, and a motivation letter explaining why they are deserving of the grant.
  • 4) The title of the abstracts submitted to the Congress must be attached to the email.
  • 5) The selection of candidates will be based on: the number of abstracts submitted and accepted for the Congress, with preference given to oral presentations over posters, and the year of training, with greater weighting given to residents in the later years of their training.
  • 6) Applications whose abstracts are not accepted by the Congress Abstract Review Committee will be automatically rejected.
  • 7) Applications will be open from 23 to 30 September 2025, and candidates will be informed of the decision on 23 October 2025.
