- March 2022 – Completed Medical Oncology Residency at Instituto Português de Oncologia Lisboa Francisco Gentil. - December 2016 – Completed General Medical Internship at Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Central. - July 2015 – Obtained Integrated Master’s in Medicine from Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade de Lisboa. - December 2012 – Completed Postdoctoral Fellowship in the RNA Biology Laboratory at Universidade de Aveiro, at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, and in the Cancer Genetics Group at IPATIMUP, focusing on genomic and functional studies of miRNAs in cancer and on cellular and molecular responses to protein synthesis errors and their role in carcinogenesis. - December 2006 – PhD in Biochemistry, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with a thesis entitled “Biochemical and Genomic Study of Proteins Involved in the Bioenergetic Metabolism of Sulfate-Reducing Bacteria.” - March 2006 – Professional Training Course in Science and Technology Journalism, Centro Protocolar de Formação Profissional para Jornalistas. - July 1999 – Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Coimbra. - April 2022 – Present: Hospital Assistant in Medical Oncology, Instituto Português de Oncologia Lisboa Francisco Gentil. - March 2020 – Present: Member of the “Molecular Tumor Board” multidisciplinary consultation at IPO Lisboa, coordinator since 2024. - November 2022 – Present: Member of the Health Technology Assessment Committee (CATS) at Infarmed. - 2013–2015: Researcher in the “Patient Innovation” project at the Business & Economics School, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. - 2005–2008: Assistant Professor/Lecturer for “Infection Prophylaxis and Therapy” course in the Microbiology program, Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Caldas da Rainha campus. - 2008–2011: Reviewer for International Journal of Cancer and PLoS One. - 2008–Present: Reviewer for Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research and American Journal of Clinical Dermatology. - Co-supervisor for PhD students and supervisor for multiple undergraduate theses in Biology and Biochemistry. - Author and co-author of 36 scientific articles in indexed national and international journals and two book chapters. - Member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and Sociedade Portuguesa de Oncologia (SPO). - 2017–Present: Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator in Phase III clinical trials in breast cancer, melanoma, and esophageal cancer, as well as in retrospective and translational studies.
