Lissandra Dal Lago, MD has a board certification in Medical Oncology (1999). She obtained her PhD at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil in 2006. As research and clinical fellow at Jules Bordet Institute in Brussels (from 2003-2006) she focused in the development of adjuvant clinical trials in breast cancer. She had a consultant university position back in Brazil from 2006-2009. Later she was appointed as clinical research physician of the EORTC Breast Cancer Group from 2009 to 2011. Then she worked for 12 years at Jules Bordet Institute as the lead medical oncologist of the Geriatric Oncology Unit. Since 2023, Dr Dal Lago is responsible for the implementation of the Geriatric Oncology care at the Chirec Cancer Institute in Brussels, Belgium. Dr. Dal Lago also occupied the position of chair of the EORTC Older Adult Council (2021-2025). At EORTC OAC, her main mission was to lead a strategy work for the development of high standard research to improve the care of older patients with cancer. Dr. Dal Lago primary interest is cancer in older patients, focused in breast cancer.
