She is a Specialist Nurse in Community Nursing, working at the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto Francisco Gentil, EPE, since 1998. Since 2011, she has been responsible for coordinating the Acute Pain Unit. In 2012, she also assumed the role of Nurse Coordinator of the Chronic Pain Unit, performing both clinical and management duties in the Pain Unit at IPO Porto, with a particular focus on the care of patients with cancer-related pain in an outpatient setting. She is a trainer for the Portuguese Nurses Association, actively contributing to the course “Assessment and Management of Patients with Pain – Basic”. She has also provided training in various other contexts, focusing on acute and chronic pain management. She holds a Master’s degree in Community Nursing from the Portuguese Catholic University (magna cum laude) and has postgraduate qualifications in Health Administration and Management, as well as Nursing Information Systems. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing, specializing in the care of patients with chronic conditions. She is the author of several scientific articles in the field of cancer-related pain and has participated as a co-investigator in national and international clinical trials.
