PROFILE

Dr. Pedro Bretcha Boix is Head of the Department of General, Digestive and Oncologic Surgery at Quirónsalud Hospitals in Torrevieja and Alicante. With more than two decades dedicated to surgical oncology, he has pioneered advanced treatments in Spain such as, cytoreductive surgery combined with HIPEC, intraoperative radiotherapy, and robotic pancreatic surgery. He earned his MD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, his from Miguel Hernández University, and holds the European Board of Surgery qualification in Surgical Oncology. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery in Surgical Oncology. Dr. Bretcha was president of the Spanish Society of Surgical Oncology (SEOQ) and coordinator of the Spanish Group for Peritoneal Oncologic Surgery (GECOP). His current clinical and research interests focus on peritoneal surface malignancies, multimodal oncologic treatments, and the integration of advanced surgical technologies and is actively involved in postgraduate teaching and international collaborations, particularly in peritoneal surface malignancies and minimally invasive oncology.
