    Claudia Fulgenzi

  • Biography

    - Is a specialist in Medical Oncology at Imperial College London, with dedicated professional interest in the field of immune-oncology and gastro-intestinal malignancies. - Graduated in medicine from the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2017, and she subsequently specialized in Medical Oncology at the University Campus Bio Medico of Rome, Italy in November 2023. Throughout her training, Claudia developed a keen interest in gastrointestinal cancers, particularly hepatic-biliary malignancies. - In 2021, Claudia moved to London to join Imperial College as a research fellow, and she had subsequently started a PhD program focused on cancer-immunotherapy in people living with HIV, in October 2022. - Her contributions to the field have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the ASCO Merit Award and the Young Investigator Award from the International Liver Cancer Association (ILCA) in 2022. She received another merit award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology in 2023 and the ASCO Global Oncology Young Investigator Award to support her translational research in HCC in 2024. - Has co-authored more than 45 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, including The Lancet Oncology, JAMA Oncology, and Clinical Cancer Research. She has presented her work at several international conferences. - Concurrently, Dr. Fulgenzi, is also actively engaged in clinical practice, serving as an Honorary Consultant in Oncology at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital within the HIV-Oncology unit, and as a specialty Doctor in the Early Phase Clinical Trial unit at Hammersmith Hospital. In these capacities, she conducts clinical and translational research in the field of HIV-Oncology and hepato-biliary malignancies, she contributes to clinical trial design and she serves as sub-investigator of several phase I trials in her dedicated field.
